The catalyst for this rant is fueled by unemployment and boredom. I moved to Hartford, CT. about 7 months. In the dead of winter I packed a 1991 Geo Metro to the gills and left Portland, Oregon. Never having lived on the east coast before, I questioned a friend that grew up in NY state. His reply was simple and straight to the point, "Hartford Sucks". But I casually brushed aside his rude remark. I haved always believed, a place it what you make of it. Plus I was moving out for LOVE. A hot californian girl I meet in South America. She was accepted into a 4 year residence program. So I knew that Hartford would only be a pit stop, plus it's close to NYC. I should have know I was in trouble when people started telling me how close Hartford is to other cool places. It's a selling tatic that I have heard used for Sacramento, CA. Oh, it's close to San Francisco, you are only a couple hours for Tahoe...blah, blah... Sacramento Sucks. Hartford suffers badly from being surrounded by cool places. NYC and Boston are just far enough away to keep you away. That is enough for now. It's only the begining. I have much more negative things to say about Hartford. In closing, I am leaving a list of cities I have lived in. These are places I was at long enough to recieve mail. From best to worst.
